Welcome to my blog!

Hello Everyone! For those that missed the “About” section, my name is Dustin Thomas, aka The Starving Archaeologist. I’ve taken to this blog to share my journey toward becoming an academic archaeologist; a difficult path on which one day I will earn a PhD and become faculty at a college or university. There, I could continue my archaeological and Classics research while teaching topics in related disciplines like Religion, History, Anthropology, etc.

I’ll be breaking my posts up into a few different categories. In Field Season 2016, I’ll write fairly regularly about the daily and weekly activities occurring at the two projects I am participating in between June and October of 2016. “My Research” will feature progress updates on the reading and research I’m working on. “Everything Else” is exactly as it says; I’ll be writing everything from opinions about current events to recipes and reviews of games and movies.

Thanks for taking the time to read and joining me on this journey!

Let me know if you have any comments, questions, or would like to share (or pick my brain) about any archaeological opportunities you may know of (or are interested in participating in).
